The business, which was founded on June 12, 1992, and was formerly known as TM Worldwide Bhd (TMI), was Telekom Malaysia Bhd's division for mobile and international operations (TM). The firm was placed on the Main Board of Bursa Malaysia Securities Berhad in 2008 following TMI's de-merger from TM. TMI underwent a renaming effort on 2 April 2009, introducing Axiata as its new name and a new logo.
