Your role

In this role, you will be part of Deloitte's INSPIRES Consulting Internship Program, working alongside some of the best and brightest people anywhere, on behalf of many of the world’s most influential companies. You will be at the center of it all, performing research, data analysis, and modeling to tackle complex business problems. In addition, you will contribute directly to the development of proposals, presentations, and publications. 

This role sits within the Customer and Marketing (C&M) team of Deloitte Southeast Asia, which is a part of Deloitte that uses technology and creativity to better connect the customer with the business. You will:

• Collaborate with product managers, business stakeholders, and technologies to understand and act upon key business requirements.
• Contribute to new feature definitions and exploration from concept through execution within an integrated team that meets business needs, user needs, and technical capabilities.
• Deliver design via concept sketches, wireframes, and ultimately production-ready comps.
• Design for motion/transition to enhance the feel of the resulting interface.
• Create and evolve consistent affordances across the product set to enhance and standardize the usability of the interfaces.
• Partner with other UX/UI designers and developers to deploy user-friendly mobile-first customer experiences.
• See product additions/enhancements from concept or research to deployment and optimization.
• Assist senior design team in creating design rationale and specifications.
• Advocate for clean, simple user-centered interfaces.

Career progression

At Deloitte, the possibility of interns being recruited for full-time positions after their internship is quite promising. If an intern demonstrates strong capabilities, and a positive attitude, and fit well within the team, they become attractive candidates for full-time roles. The process typically involves discussions with mentors, managers, and HR representatives. If both parties are satisfied, the intern may transition into a permanent role upon graduation.

Work-life balance

In general, work-life balance is fairly good at Deloitte. Standard working hours apply from 08.30 PM to 05.30 PM from Monday to Friday. Overtime may apply sometimes, but some employees stated that during the off-peak period, the working hours are flexible.

About you

You fit into this role if you meet the requirements below:

• Penultimate and final year students.
• Proven excellence in academic achievement, with a focus on Design and related fields such as Industrial Design, Graphic Design, Multimedia Design, and Creative Media.
• Interest in producing polished wireframes, mock-ups, and prototypes.
• Experience delivering successful and highly interactive web applications 7 will be advantageous.
• Having experience working as a UI developer conceptualizing, designing, and developing data-driven complex interface solutions using modern web technologies will be advantageous.
• Interest in participating in requirements gathering sessions and prototyping to drive front-end goals.
• A strong background with knowledge/experience with HTML5, CSS3, and Front-end frameworks like Bootstrap and AngularJS will be advantageous.
• Interest in defining and creating the workflow for the user experience and style guide of web applications including page layout, navigation, and data entry.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Visual Studio and Microsoft Team Foundation Server (TFS) will be advantageous.
