Job summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Finance Intern to join our finance team, with a primary focus on budgeting activities. This internship will provide you with hands-on experience in budget preparation, analysis, and monitoring. As a Finance Intern, you will play a key role in supporting our budgeting processes, ensuring accuracy, and helping to drive informed financial decision-making.
Key responsibilities:
- Budget Preparation: Assist in the preparation of departmental and company-wide budgets by gathering and organizing financial data.
- Data Analysis: Analyze historical financial data to identify trends and inform budget projections.
- Variance Analysis: Help in tracking actual expenditures against the budget and preparing variance analysis reports.
- Forecasting: Support the finance team in updating forecasts based on current financial performance and anticipated changes.
- Cost Analysis: Assist in reviewing and analyzing costs to help identify opportunities for cost savings.
- Report Generation: Prepare and update budget reports, charts, and graphs for internal meetings and presentations.
- Budget Adjustments: Help in making necessary adjustments to budgets as directed by the finance team.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date budget documentation, ensuring all relevant data is properly recorded.
- Ad Hoc Projects: Participate in special projects related to budgeting, including scenario analysis and financial modeling.
Qualifications:
- Education: Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
- Skills:
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets
- Basic understanding of budgeting principles and financial forecasting.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Experience: Previous experience or coursework in finance, accounting, or budgeting is advantageous but not required.
